The difference between titanium alloy and super titanium

1. Overview of super titanium and titanium alloys
Super titanium refers to a composite material made of titanium-based metal materials and other materials (including other metal or non-metal materials). Mainly used in high temperature, high strength and high stiffness applications in the aerospace field. Titanium alloys are alloys manufactured by casting or thermal processing and are mainly used to make structural materials and engine parts in the aerospace industry.

2. Alloy elements

The biggest difference between super titanium and titanium alloy lies in the different alloy elements. Titanium alloys are usually composed of aluminum, vanadium, zinc, iron and other elements, mainly to increase strength, hardness, corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance. Super titanium uses more alloy elements, such as zirconium, molybdenum, tantalum, chromium, nickel and iron, to improve the material's high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, tensile strength and toughness.

3. Performance

Due to different alloying elements, the properties of super titanium and titanium alloys are also different. Titanium alloys have higher strength and hardness, but their high-temperature properties are poor compared to super titanium. Super titanium has high-performance comprehensive properties, including good high-temperature performance, strength, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and deformation resistance.

4. Application in aerospace field

Super titanium is mainly used to manufacture high-temperature, high-strength, and high-rigidity components in the aerospace field, such as engine blades, bulkheads, fuselages, etc. Titanium alloys are mainly used as structural materials and engine parts in the aerospace field, such as gas turbine blisks, valve stems, etc.

Although both super titanium and titanium alloys are important materials in the aerospace field, their alloying elements and properties are different. Before use, selection needs to be made based on actual needs to ensure that the material can better adapt to the application requirements in related fields.
