Titanium rod process and titanium rod annealing process
The titanium rod process is to process titanium metal through a series of processing processes to form a rod with a certain shape, size and specific properties. Titanium rods are widely used in aviation, aerospace, marine engineering, chemical, medical and other fields. The following are specific cases of titanium rod technology.
1. Raw material selection: select high-purity a + β titanium alloy powder.
2. Sintering to make rods: dry, mix and compact the titanium alloy powder, and sinter under high temperature and high pressure conditions to form a titanium alloy billet with flat, dense, pore-free and crack-free particles. The sintering temperature is 1350°C, the pressure is 100Mpa, and the holding time is 2 hours.
3. Heat treatment: Anneal the sintered body to reduce the hardness of the material, improve the plasticity and machinability of the material, and reduce the size of the Raman body. The heat treatment temperature is 950°C, the holding time is 2 hours, and the cooling method is air cooling.
4. Hot-rolled bar: the annealed titanium alloy billet is hot-rolled into a bar. The hot rolling temperature was 900°C, and the rolling reduction was 30%. The shape and diameter of rolled bars shall meet the specified requirements. The resulting rod had a diameter of 16 mm.
5. Pickling and peeling: Since the surface of titanium rods will produce bad surfaces such as oxide layer and metal fish skin during hot rolling and heat treatment, pickling and peeling are required. The pickling temperature is 80°C, and the concentration is 20%-25%.
6. Drying: Dry the pickled titanium rod to remove the moisture on the surface.
7. Machining: According to the different requirements of customers, the titanium rods are mechanically processed, such as cutting, forming, bright treatment, etc.
The above is a case of titanium rod process. The titanium rods produced by it have high surface finish, good chemical stability and strong mechanical properties. Can be customized to meet the needs of different customers.
Titanium rod annealing process Titanium rod annealing process is an important processing technology, which can effectively improve the mechanical properties of titanium rods. The following is a practical case to illustrate the specific process. Example: A BT5 titanium rod with a diameter of 25 mm is annealed.
BT5 titanium rod that needs to be annealed , and choose a titanium rod with a diameter of 25mm. At the same time, it is also necessary to prepare corresponding equipment, including stoves, thermometers, heating agents, etc. 2. Put the material into the heat treatment furnace in advance and preheat it. The preheating temperature is 400° C., and the holding time is 1 hour. The purpose of this step is to allow the material to be heated evenly, reduce thermal instability, and prepare for subsequent operations. 3. After preheating, heat the material to the target temperature, and the quenching temperature is 730°C. Hold time is 2 hours. The purpose of this step is to improve the internal grain structure and increase the plasticity and strength of the titanium alloy by eliminating stress and defects in the material. 4. After the quenching is completed, the material needs to be cooled slowly, and Manhattan will produce weight and deformation due to rapid cooling, so it should be cooled to below 200°C in a heat treatment furnace at a low speed, and the natural cooling method should be used to reach the ambient temperature. 5. After the annealing treatment is completed, the performance of the material inspection is required. The more common method of selection is metallographic analysis. After the sample is processed by slicing, grinding, corrosion, etc., its metallographic structure and structural characteristics are observed with a microscope. 6. Results After inspection, it was found that the extracted BT5 titanium rod has fine grains, its tensile strength (yield strength) is 926MPa relative to the raw material, and its elongation rate (elongation) is as high as 19.7. From this we can see that the quenching process of titanium rods can effectively improve the properties of titanium alloys .
The titanium rod annealing process includes multiple steps such as material, preheating , quenching process, cooling and inspection. The correct quenching process can improve the internal grain structure, improve the plasticity of titanium alloy, and through analysis, it reflects the specific operation process and experience skills of the process.
