Annealing

bars and forgings: 970°C, 1h, air cooling +595°C, 8h, air cooling; plates: 900°C, 10-30min, air cooling +790°C, 15min, air cooling.

 

Three times annealing (titanium alloy plate)

900°C, 10-30min, air cooling + 790°C, 15min, air cooling +595°C, 2h, air cooling.

 

Stress annealing

480-650℃, 1-4h, furnace cooling or air cooling.

 

General annealing (cast titanium parts)

700-800°C, furnace cooling/air cooling, 1-2h.

Casting, Melting:

The steel ingots for making bars should be smelted three times in a vacuum consumable electrode electric arc furnace. The consumable electrode is prepared from 0-2 small particle sponge titanium, Mo-Al master alloy, Ti-Sn master alloy and Al-Si master alloy, pure aluminum and sponge zirconium. The remelted electrodes prepared after two vacuum consumable meltings were cast by gravity casting or centrifugal casting in a vacuum consumable arc shell solidification furnace. Casting molds are available in investment casting shells, compact (graphite) types and machined graphite types.

Casting Performance Analysis:

The alloy contains Al and Sn, has good casting properties, is easy to form, and has no tendency to hot cracking. Special-shaped castings of various shapes, sizes, and wall thicknesses can be cast in molds suitable for casting titanium alloys.
