Characteristics of titanium alloy
Titanium alloy (α+β) has good strength, heat resistance and plasticity, and can be strengthened by heat treatment, and has a wide range of applications. (α+β) titanium alloy grades are Gr5, Gr7, Gr9, Gr11, Gr23 and so on. Among them, Ti-6Al-4V is the most widely used, and after quenching (930 ℃ heating) and aging treatment (540 ℃, 2 h), its R m can reach 1 274 MPa, A> 13%, and has high creep resistance, low temperature toughness and good corrosion resistance. Gr5 alloys are suitable for parts that operate below 400 ° C and at low temperatures, such as rocket engine casings, liquid hydrogen fuel containers for rockets and missiles.

Pure titanium has good plasticity, low strength and is easy to process. After crystallization, the α-titanium of the close-packed hexagonal lattice is transformed into β-titanium of the body-centered cubic lattice when heated to 882 ℃. In many media, titanium corrosion resistance is better than stainless steel, especially the ability to resist seawater corrosion is very prominent. Commercial pure titanium grades are GR1, GR2, GR3, GR4, the greater the grade number, the more the mass fraction of impurities.
