Rolled titanium rod forming is accomplished through a process called rolling and is one of the common forms of titanium. Mainly used in aerospace, shipbuilding and chemical processing industries.

Class 4 (3.7065, R50700)

Pure titanium gr4, a commercial pure titanium alloy based on titanium gr3, has changed its mechanical properties by adjusting a small amount of oxygen and iron elements. Commercially pure titanium alloys can be altered by small amounts of oxygen and iron, which tend to affect mechanical properties. Gr4 exhibits the highest strength of all CP titanium alloy grades.

Class 5 (Ti-6AI-4V, 3.7165, R56400)

 

Gr5 titanium alloy is known as Ti6AI4V, Ti-6Al-4V or Ti6-4, an a-plus-beta class. Combining excellent strength, low weight and excellent corrosion resistance, the alloy is now used in many ways and is one of the most widely used titanium alloys today. Another advantage of annealed Ti-6Al4V Gr5 is that it is suitable for use at temperatures up to 400°C and is easy to forge, form and weld.

Level 7 (0.12~0.25Pd, 3.7235, R52400)

 

Titanium Gr7 Ti-Pd unalloyed titanium, add palladium powder on the basis of Gr2 grade when smelting ingots, to ensure palladium content of 0.12 - 0.25%, specially developed for the chemical processing industry. Gr7 titanium enhances the resistance to chemical crevice corrosion. It combines excellent corrosion resistance with good formability and weldability. Improved resistance to general and localized crevice corrosion in a wide range of reducing acid environments, including chlorides, as well as in low pH and high temperature environments.

Class 9 (Ti-3AI-2.5V, 3.7195, R56320)

 

Titanium gr9 Ti-3Al-2.5V alloy is an α+β alloy with a small amount of Pb added to enhance corrosion resistance. This grade is characterized by good weldability and excellent processability. The alloy exhibits high mechanical strength and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. It combines good corrosion resistance with good cold formability.

Rolled rod process

Rolled Titanium Bar is usually processed by commercial pure titanium and titanium alloy materials, with high strength, high corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, Rolled Titanium Bar manufacturing process due to material properties and uses vary, the total process is roughly the same:

1. Raw material preparation: Titanium materials are heated, cooled and quenched several times in hydrogen oxide, nitrogen or air flow to remove impurities and oxides.

2. Heating: Put the titanium material into the electric furnace for heat treatment.

3. Rolling: The heated titanium alloy is rolled on the titanium material mill.

4. Pickling: Put the rolled titanium rod into the acid solution containing hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid for pickling to remove the oxide film and other impurities on the surface of the titanium rod.

5. Stretching: the titanium rod is stretched to meet the standard requirements of tensile strength.

6. Cutting: Put the titanium rod into the cutting machine for single cutting to meet customer length requirements.

7. Surface treatment and other links: cleaning, polishing, anodizing, painting according to customer requirements of cutting standard titanium rods.
