GR2 titanium round tube hot forging process
It mainly includes four steps: heating, forging, post-forging annealing and finishing.
1. Place the preheated titanium ingot into a resistance furnace or induction heating equipment to heat it up to the appropriate forging temperature. The generally recommended forging temperature is 800-950℃.
2. Put the titanium ingot at a suitable temperature into the forging die and produce plastic deformation through mechanical force. Our commonly used forging machinery includes hydraulic presses, pneumatic hammers, etc.
3. After forging, it needs to be annealed to remove internal residual stress and grain refinement. Annealing temperature should be in the range of 600-800℃.
4. After annealing, it is then precision processed until we require the required size and surface quality.
