Forging process

Forging is a processing method that produces shape changes by applying pressure to metal materials. In titanium forging, commonly used forging processes include open forging, die forging and ring die forging. The free-forged titanium block is directly heated to the appropriate temperature and then shaped by hammering or press machinery. The mold is used to shape the front titanium block in the mold, which is suitable for mass production. Ring die forgings undergo deformation of material integrity and heat treatment in the ring die and are suitable for preparing large diameter round bars.

Select a suitable titanium block or alloy block and prepare the material before forging. Materials should have sufficient purity and alloying element content to meet the specific requirements of the product.

Preheat the selected material. Preheating helps reduce the hardness of the material and improves its plasticity, making it easier to form the desired shape during the forging process.

According to the product design requirements and process plan, put the materials from the preliminary stage into the forging equipment for forming. During the forming process, the titanium block is gradually deformed into a round rod with a circular cross-section by applying pressure and controlling temperature.

The formed titanium round rod may have problems with internal relaxation and uneven grain structure. In order to eliminate these problems, process heat treatments, including tempering and annealing, are often performed to improve the stability and performance of the material.

Treat the surface of the titanium forged rod, including polishing, pickling and other processes, to ensure its surface finish and chemical stability.
